Nightmare bus journey from Puno yesterday. It set off an hour late due to the carnival, broke down up in the mountains, had to wait an hour while they replaced a suspension doodah thingy then was further delayed by snow and fog!
Still, lunch was ok - if a little weird. If you are of squeemish nature dont look at picture.
Have now mananaged to get pictures off my camera for Macchu and Titicaca but they arent as good as Dazīs

Found we have cable TV for first time in ages and seen the news about the bushfires in Victoria. Hope all our friends and colleagues are safe and well - please let us know you are ok.Nightmare bus journey from Puno yesterday. Have just been catching up with your latest S.American adventures. Fantastic stuff, as usual. Machu Picchu has been on my MUST SEE list for a very long time. Tsk, tsk, doing it by train. Getting soft in your 'old' age?
I was reminded of the very convoluted way my very old, straight-laced 7th grade nun in Chicago used to pronounce Titicaca in our geography lessons; obviously to deny us the pleasure of tittering at her 'naughty' language. Who knows, maybe she was correct after all. I'll have to check it out when I next see you.
We won't bore you the our 14in of snow stories on Epsom Downs, other than to say it sure was fun making a snowman, throwing snowballs & generally playing about like all the other 'kids' over 40. Enjoy the rest of your week.
Love from Us Xx
I think everyone is OK, Becky had to leave her house and her school is closed for a short time. Many children there have lost their homes. She will have a big job ahead of her when they return to school.
It has been a very sad time, unfortunately it is not over yet with fires still burning. At this time of year we have high winds and with the drought we have had in Victoria everything is extra dry.
Our thoughts are certainly with those in these areas and their dreadful loss.
Enjoy every moment of your last weeks of your trip, this is the part that will go so quickly.
