Rio is a Turkish bath with en suite samba music at a thousand decibels. We braved it into the city this afternoon. The streets were a throbbing mass of bands and dancers, every man, woman, child and their dog (we saw one in a red stripey T shirt), dressed up and gyrating. Tomorrow night we`re hoping to get tickets for the official procession and go with a crowd from our guest house. Tonight they`ve all gone out in amazing costumes to take part. We just need to relax after our gruelling whistle stop tour of South America.
You must write a book on your return it would be a best seller we are sure.
The snowdrops and crocuses are showing now but we went to Longshaw and there was pockets of snow and the Lake was thickly covered with ice. Our grandchildren loved it when we took them there.A very special day and quieter than Rio I think???!
Will be sorry when you come home as we've really enjoyed your trip with you. Take care in the crowds and we're looking forward to our get together when you get back. Kate and Marie send their love and Gwynneth will want to know about your dancing.
Enjoy it, another night with little sleep will keep you going. Di x
