This involved 28 flights, 21 boats,10 trains, 10 long bus journeys, 7 long car/motorhome journeys and we stayed in 44 lots of accommodation.
Our final flight from Heathrow to Manchester was the one with the most problems. The plane needed a wheel change and at Manchester the luggage hold was jammed and we had to wait ages for the release of our bags.
We had a brilliant homecoming though. There to greet us at the airport was the entire Green family waving banners, including mum in a wheel chair. Carol was clutching a shepherd's pie with all the trimmings. What a fantastic welcome.
We've had the trip of a lifetime but are so glad to be home.

Planning to burn those travel clothes or save them for posterity? No more rocks to wash them on anyway. Nothing like some of those great home comforts, is there? No doubt your social calendar will be pretty full in the weeks ahead, catching up with family & friends. Have a great time adjusting to just STAYING PUT. Love Xx

Well, Bakewell IS attractive, of course. But I wonder if anyone else ever traveled so far to get there ! Welcome home ! Hope to see you before long.

Welcome Home. Without any travelling to plan, you'll now have time to write a 'best selling' travel book...no more Bill Bryson...he's adventures are tame after all of yours!!
